SUINKWWC22 - My Shabby Valentine
What a fun challenge this was...it was nice to think outside the box and make a non-standard size card. When I say think outside the box, in my case this card is rather big - 7" x 5", but love how this week's SCS sketch is perfect for it! I was highly inspired to make this card shabby not just because of the images from the Be My Valentine set, but also because of the new Core'dinations The Chocolate Box card stock. Let me just tell you how absolutely yummy this card stock is to work with. If you're into distressing, this is such a must have! Well really even if you're not, it's still a must have! Here's the card I came up with for the challenge, My Shabby Valentine.
The Chocolate Box is just one of several specialty collections for Core'dinations ColorCore card stock and can't wait to get more. Basically in this packet you 20 - 12"x12" sheet of card stock. 2 sided card stock, Chocolate on one side of each sheet, and then 20 different colors...you must check them out here The Chocolate Box to see all the yummy colors.
Now back to your regular scheduled program, the card. I love distressing and I seemed to not be doing it enough on my projects lately. As you can tell I sure made up for it with this card. I used the Chocolate Box paper for mats under all the layers. It really looks amazing in real life and it's a great way to add a bit of color.
I also used Tim Holtz Ranger's Ink which is my go to distressing ink for scrapbooking, 3D items and card making.
To finish it off, I added halfback pearls and ribbon. The recipe is below, but feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
Hope you have a great day! ~Carolina
